Frequently Asked Questions
Here are answers to some common questions about working together. If you don't see your question answered here, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
1
What happens during a consultation?
Initial sessions last approximately 90 minutes. We'll discuss your feeding history and concerns in detail, observe a complete feeding session, assess your baby's latch, positioning, and oral anatomy - if indicated - , and develop a personalised care plan. You'll receive a written care plan and whatsapp/text support for 4 weeks following the consultation.
2
How do I book an appointment?
You can book directly through my contact form, send an email, or phone for a brief chat first. I offer both home visits throughout the North East of England and online consultations via secure video link. I aim to respond within 24 hours and often have availability within a few days.
3
Do you support formula-feeding families?
Absolutely! Whether you're combination feeding, transitioning to formula, or exclusively formula feeding, you deserve professional support. I provide guidance on safe formula preparation, responsive bottle feeding, paced feeding techniques, and navigating feeding challenges without judgement.
4
What are your fees and payment options?
Please see the contact page for pricing details. Payment is accepted by bank transfer or cash.
5
What is your cancellation policy?
Life with a new baby is unpredictable, and I understand that. Appointments can be rescheduled with 24 hours' notice at no charge. Cancellations with less notice may incur a 50% fee, though I'll always try to be flexible in genuine emergencies.
6
How many sessions will I need?
This varies greatly depending on your situation. Some families find one comprehensive session sufficient, whilst others benefit from several follow-ups. I'll never recommend more appointments than necessary.
